In 2013, Michael published The Real Middle Earth, an academic research book exploring his theory about the inspirations of Tolkien and the link to Ethiopia. Since that time, he has presented his theory to fans of Tolkien, both mainstream and academic, and this has deepened his knowledge of the subject matter and enabled him to develop better tools to explain his theory.
